“The Clamour Head project came from the idea of what would happen if a whole orchestra would get together and just improvise like a free jazz group might, but in a classical style. As a listener for many years of the music of Igor Stravinsky, particulary the Rite of Spring, the classical style I had in mind was more of the modern classical style. As recording went on the style sometimes morphed into other styles and non orchestral instruments as well. This was fine with me since the traditional orchestra sound is a bit dated anyway, and these are new times.
All the music is improvised, recording one track, then overdubbing a second, third and so on. After recording all the tracks I did go back in and edit things a bit, mostly taking out some parts but occassionaly fixing a note here or there. The parts were all played on a keyboard including all the sound effects, which were particulary fun to do. Using a pitch bend wheel and sometimes playing clusters of notes gave rise to some interesting sounds.
It was great fun to record the music, a bit of a pain to mix, but hopefully makes for some interesting listening.” – Buz Hendricks

All Over The Psychedelicatessence is the new album by Australian sound artist Josh Wodak (aka Archangle). Here is what the artist had to say about this fantastic album.
“I recently famished an album made over the last seven years with a variety of guilty collaborators and innocent bystanders in Australia and India. Being bout foods for the imagination, its called ‘all over the psychedelicatessence’ and features the car smash hit single nucleotide polymorphism ‘bangers n mashed pot:ato prac:tice pi:ece with side dose of delhi belly’ – like sounds sound like gullivers anatomical travels through the psychedelicious good grub gulliver while it digests the gastronomical smorgasbored of petty boojwas… The 10 tracks (total duration 45 mins) are highly eclectic, but also stylistically similar, oscillating between improv, experimental, electroacoustic, ambient, post-folk, noise, sound-art, glitch and electronica…which rolled together I call ‘eclectrictronica’ coz it rolls right off the tongue. A smorgabored of acoustic+electronic instruments were used, which were subject to live editing/mixing/mangling/processing.”

It seems like Astrowind are having the most constant release-frequency on Resting Bell. One release a year, always around September and October. It is the third release on Resting Bell, after “Somewhere The Music Had Been Played“ in September 2007 and “Der Leuchtturm“ in October 2008. They also released on 12rec and Electrosound/Musica Excentrica.
“Kurland” contains 15 pieces and has a total duration of over 60 minutes, a real longplayer. Kurland is the german name for one of the cultural and historical regions of Latvia (in english: Courland). So you have scenic titles like “Kurland“, “Nebel”, “Sounds Of The Shores” but also pieces about aerospace and deep sea. Compared to the older Astrowind-releases the new work sounds a bit deeper and adult. You still find the synth-drones and the noises and glitches but everything is arranged very focused, very sublime. Every element is set very sensible and well chosen.

The artwork is painted using mixed-media techniques by prolific artist Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13Media who also makes a guest appearance on this record as a guitar player.
“148 Light Years” is a collective effort of Marius Costache(noise), Ana Roman(piano), Costin Chioreanu(guitar), Jeno Havelaar(noise) and Razvan Raduta(drums) and it was produced, mixed and mastered by Marius Costache.
